
This isn't just another little graphic to add to your pages like so much jewelry. We're a community, we have a community mailing list (the address to subscribe will be provided when you are accepted, and you can check out the basic rules of participation here on the site), and we are in the beginning stages of some community-wide projects. If you don't want to take the time to participate, don't take the time to apply. The Monthly Collabs are a compulsory part of our participation requirements. We know that may sound scary, but all it means is that each month everyone writes a few words on a topic decided on by the other members of the ring. It's easy, doesn't take any time at all, and is a neccesary part of making 'the ring' more of a 'community'. The Mailing list is also compulsory, but you needn't be scared away by that either. The amount of mail generated by it is never too huge to manage, and we offer the option of receiving the mailing-list mails in a 'digest' form (one mail with 10 messages as opposed to 10 seperate mails) if you have your concerns.... Finally, when you've become a member of this ring, we want you to send us a GIF or JPG which will represent you in our members Gallery. It doesn't have to be a picture of your face, anything you feel represents you and your journal is fine. If you have a problem with any of these requirements, then you should find your back button right about now, because they are really quite non-imposing and are a very important and social part of the community.
